Prismatic cells have a rigid, usually metallic rectangular housing and can therefore be stacked into modules and packs with high space efficiency. They provide mechanical stability and defined venting paths through integrated burst discs, but offer less flexibility in thermal coupling than pouch cells. In stationary storage, large-format prismatic LFP cells are now the common standard.
