Spannungsebene
Full Name (EN)
Voltage Level
Short Definition (EN)
Classification of the network by voltage magnitude into low, medium, high and extra-high voltage, each with its own connection rule.
Category (EN)
Grid Connection, Grid Codes and Power Systems
Definition (EN)
Classifying the power grid into voltage levels, usually low voltage up to 1 kilovolt, medium voltage up to around 36 kilovolts, high voltage up to 220 kilovolts, and extra-high voltage above that, substantially determines the technical and regulatory requirements for a BESS project, since each level is governed by its own technical connection rule: VDE-AR-N 4105 for low voltage, VDE-AR-N 4110 for medium voltage, VDE-AR-N 4120 for high voltage, and VDE-AR-N 4130 for extra-high voltage. The choice of voltage level for a project's grid connection is primarily determined by the planned connection capacity and the network infrastructure actually available at the site, not by the project developer's free choice. As voltage level rises, both available connection capacity and the technical and permitting complexity of the connection process typically increase.
Full Name (DE)
Spannungsebene (Voltage Level)
Short Definition (DE)
