A load flow study simulates, for a given grid model under steady-state operating conditions, the voltages present at individual grid nodes and the power flows across equipment such as lines and transformers, checking their loading against permissible limits. For a BESS's grid connection, the load flow study is typically run for several characteristic load cases, such as maximum feed-in at minimum grid load, to identify the most adverse operating condition.
