Definition (EN)
The factory acceptance test takes place at the manufacturer's site before a battery system or container is shipped to the project location, and checks, against a pre-agreed checklist, electrical function, communication interfaces and mechanical build quality, among other items. A passed FAT substantially reduces the risk of costly on-site rework and is often a contractual prerequisite for shipment and an associated payment milestone. It does not replace the later site acceptance test (SAT), which confirms function after installation at the actual deployment location.

Die Werksabnahmeprüfung findet beim Hersteller statt, bevor ein Batteriesystem oder Container zum Projektstandort verschickt wird, und prüft anhand einer vorab vereinbarten Checkliste unter anderem die elektrische Funktion, die Kommunikationsschnittstellen und die mechanische Ausführung. Eine bestandene FAT reduziert das Risiko kostspieliger Nacharbeiten vor Ort erheblich und ist häufig eine vertragliche Voraussetzung für den Versand sowie einen zugehörigen Zahlungsmeilenstein. Sie ersetzt nicht die spätere Standortabnahmeprüfung (SAT), die die Funktion nach Errichtung am tatsächlichen Einsatzort bestätigt.
