The component certificate confirms that a specific component type, such as a PCS model or an inverter, can fundamentally meet the technical requirements of the relevant connection rule, and is issued by an accredited body on a type basis, independent of site. Manufacturers typically have their products certified once for a given device type, subsequently providing this certificate as the basis for their customers' project-specific plant certificates, reducing certification effort at project level. A component certificate, however, does not replace the need for a separate plant certificate for the specific, installed overall system at its particular point of connection.

Ein Einheitenzertifikat ersetzt jedoch nicht die Notwendigkeit eines eigenen Anlagenzertifikats für die konkrete, errichtete Gesamtanlage am jeweiligen Netzverknüpfungspunkt.
